FAQ:
Why is registration required?
Simply put, so we have a record of your IP, so we know what to ban if you get out of hand. Plus, it gives us a way to contact you.
Why don't I have a special title?
The first rule about special titles is that you do not ask about special titles.
Can I be a moderator?
The quick answer is no. The long answer is maybe - being a moderator means being able to exercise our rules as well as we can, be fair, and not break your own rules. When we call for more moderators, ask -once- over email, with good reasons why, and maybe you will be. Note: if everyone doesn't instantly recognize you as a regular, don't bother. You'll notice the low number of non-Luke and non-Scott moderators - don't ask unless you really, really want to, and have the time.
Someone just broke a rule! What do I do?
First off, don't go off on them yourselves. The moderators are specifically there to tell people what is up without sounding mean or vindictive. Just quietly email the moderators the problem, and the location of the thread, and they will take care of it.
How can I contact Luke and/or Scott?
Email us using the link on the front page of the comic. Please do not ask us to post a link to your comic, or pictures of your puppy, or anything like that - generally, if it is in your sig, and not too blaring, we'll see it eventually, and if we really really like it, maybe you'll see it on the front page sometime.
Can I have a sketch / buy a sketch?
No, sorry. Luke gives out sketches from time to time at conventions, as prizes, or on a whim to forum readers. Since he only has so many hours in a day, and has the webcomic, the print comics, and his own relaxation to deal with, he does not do sketch requests or commissions. Just hang around the forums, enter contests, and you'll get one eventually.
What is a `Hammer'? What is a `Ban'? What is the difference?
Being `hammered' means part or all of your post was deemed unsuitable to be read by the forum folk at large. The reason why it was hammered will be posted along with the hammer. Don't break that rule again.
Being `banned' means you have shown that you will not follow rules, generally by posting something you got hammered for again. Banning doesn't come lightly - all of the moderators and admins get together to place one. You may email asking why, and will probably be asked to write an apology and say you won't break the rule you've broken again before you get un-banned.
